One of Hungary's oldest SAP partners

Acterra calls itself one of the oldest partners in the country. Its developers and consultants serve mostly local companies.

It also has several international customers, plus some in neighboring countries.

The warehouse challenge: finding the right inventory level

Asked about the biggest challenge, Csaba points to one problem: finding the optimal inventory level. It plays out differently by industry.

In just-in-time industries such as automotive, it is a serious logistical challenge. For companies with perishable goods, the hard part is measuring inventory turnover accurately.

"SAP Business One is a very complete solution, but I always say that we're always open to do better, to take the best in terms of a specific area." Csaba Kriston, Managing Director, Acterra

Why Acterra adds Wisys to SAP Business One

Csaba says Wisys adds real-time warehouse and data capture. It improves accuracy, speed, and visibility through mobile barcoding and inventory tracking.

"...it makes us possible to support more complex warehouse and distribution environment without heavy customization." Csaba Kriston

On the floor, it connects the ERP directly to mobile devices and barcode scanning. Movements, picking, and inventory updates are captured instantly.

Users get real-time visibility, with fewer delays and errors.

A kanban example: from paper picking to minutes

Asked for a real customer example, he describes an electronics components manufacturer. It supplies its production lines with a kanban system.

Before, materials were picked on paper once the kanban cards were collected. Now the consumption of a kanban bin is reported through a terminal. That automatically creates a picking request.

Staff prepare and deliver the materials in minutes.

"As a result, the process that previously required two people per production line, now two people is enough for four production line." Csaba Kriston

The customer was not named in the interview.

SAP's stability plus Wisys's agility

In his view, the partnership is a split of strengths. SAP provides enterprise-grade functions that keep the system stable, compliant, and scalable.

On top, specialized solutions add mobile warehouse management, barcoding, and real-time data capture.

"...the best of both worlds, the reliability and global standard of SAP, and together with the agility and industry-specific enhancement from Wisys." Csaba Kriston

Real-time data is what automation and AI run on

Csaba agrees that accurate, up-to-date data is the foundation for AI. If the data is delayed or incorrect, a system can make the wrong decision.

Real-time data keeps decisions tied to what is actually happening in the warehouse.

The one-sentence pitch for partners

To close the episode, the host asked him for one sentence on what Wisys means to its customers.

"Wisys helps growing SAP Business One customers handle increasingly complex warehouse operations by improving accuracy, speeding up process, and providing real-time visibility without requiring major changes to their core system." Csaba Kriston
